Unfortunately, our current campaign finance laws (so brilliantly made worse by my candidate's signature legislation) mean that a candidate today needs to raise more than 1 million dollars a day during their 18 month-long campaign. Think about that! Every day, you need to stand in front of people and say, "You should give me 1 million of your dollars because I think I should be President!"
Even if a person wasn't incredibly self-centered before beginning that process, I can't imagine that raising yourself 1 million dollars a day wouldn't change you.
