Annual year-end ramble

End of December is the time to breathe a little and be with family. Christmas is with my family, New Year's is with the in-laws. It gets me away from work and from the constant building projects. I have more time to do other things I like, such as taking pictures. I've fallen off on the less mechanical production in the past year.

I've gotten into doing "best of" lists at the end of the year, like everyone else. But 2008 was so good, and 2009 was so bad, that this year deserves a "worst of" list.

-Job change logistics & fundraising
-Moving (the new house is great, but I hate moving)
-Cancer #1 (Dad)
-Cancer #2 (Mom)
-The state of politics
-Phillies losing to the Yankees (UGH)
-Our national discourse (i.e. lack thereof)
-Avatar

Well... ok it wasn't all bad. I can't even come up with ten things. Trying my hand at the good things:

-Euro tour (mixed bag, really)
-Home ownership (another mixed bag, but again, house is great)
-My rad family
-New Rosetta LP is a real evolution
-My wife likes to bro down and nerd out
-Star Trek (watched 7 seasons of TNG and 5 seasons of DS9 this year)
-"Technology group"
-Lots of friends got married
